I got a wonderful cat there yesterday. They make you fill out an adoption form and have it approved before you can touch the animals. Then we got to visit with one cat at a time and asked to wash hands between cats. It seems like a bit much until you see how healthy their animals are compared to other shelters who have animals in communal rooms and let everyone go and help spread germs from animal to animal and room to room. The animals in Williamson County shelter seemed particularly unhealthy. The animals here in Maury County seem healthy and great. I found myself the purr-fect companion cat.
Very friendly staff. Dogs were very happy to be able to go out and have playtime. Some cages had a significant amount of poo in them but this was right at opening and they were trying to get it all cleaned up. I love that they do vet checks for any potential adopters! Thatvreally shows they care about the home the animals are going too!
I helped my boss to adopt a dog there and the application process was a joke. They took the application never called us back. I called a few days later they couldn't find the application. Then I called again the next day they found it but no one had actually went over the application then someone called asked was the dog going to be kept inside or out. I very plainly said inside.They called back stating I would need to provide pictures of where the dog would be kept. I had never even heard of that before so we took pictures of the new doggie bed, bowls and the room. Took that in to them. They could not find our application (again) said that they thought the dog would be kept outside that's why they needed the pictures. Get it together folks!
Super got a wonderful fur baby and would go with them again.
I got a poodle there in 2009. There had been a puppy mill bust. He was very close to death. Here we are 8 years later! I love my old buddy!
