We were both very pleased that we took the time to stop in, we will most definitely be going back.
I've been looking forward to stopping here for quite some time and the place did not disappoint. I'm a big guy and I usually eat more than any normal person should and the portions were huge even for me. Absolutely love the ambiance. It was neat to see autographed photos from various country stars songwriters and singers. The the gift shop selection upstairs contains your typical tourist items magnets t-shirts Etc.
My wife and I have been listening to Joey & Rory's music for a while now. My has been wanting to get to their restaurant but never seem to be anywhere near it. We finally had a delivery within 40 miles so we finally had our chance. Being truck drivers it's very hard to stop at most places because of parking. Well there is a Dollar General within walking distance. The manage was okay with us parking in their lot.
The good was real downtime comfort food.

So if you just happen to find yourself in the neighborhood and you are hungry and you are tired of the same out chain restaurants and fast food by all means stop in at Marcy Jo's Mealhouse. It's like stepping back into time. It's definitely worth the stop.
The same type of food I had growing up with my daddy's family in Mississippi. Good for your SOUL food. The green bean appetizers and the hush puppy appetizers were so yummy too. We had the Heath Bar Cake Desert. WOW!
Disappointed that we did not get to try the food. I overheard the cook or someone in the kitchen say that one of the co workers could take home the leftovers. I would gladly have eaten (and paid for) the leftovers.
We were called inside and sat at this very old metal kitchen table. The inside is set up to make you feel at home, it even has a country store upstairs. It was Sunday morning. The morning menu is very simple. We ordered a very goid home cooked breakfast, everything was perfect. Excellent food and service, you cannot ask for anything more. At the check we decided to get a piece of home German chocolate cake and a piece of coca cola cake both were perfect.
Most likely will never go back since I live in Oklahoma and we went out of our way to try it out.
So here it is, we get to the restaurant ( Marcy Jo's Mealhouse ) it's an old country building set in a small town. There were customers sitting out on the front porch waiting for a seat. We went inside and were greeted by a very pleasant very polite young lady that made us feel like we were at home. We sat outside on the porch and waited for a table.

Came for their first annual yard sale all the way from TEXAS absolutely had to go to Marcy Jo's the most down-home people you'll ever meet in your life like they've known you forever. The food was absolutely amazing had the catfish dinner and of course the cinnamon roll. And thank you to the amazing wonderful friendly staff at Marcy Jo's you made the trip incredible. Don't change a thing. A place to put on your bucket list to visit at least one time well worth the trip . No complaint from this TEXAS couple loaded up our truck of all the amazing things we got at their yard sale. Oh and not to forget such a strong amazing woman Marcy you are a true Spirit enjoyed our small talk today and got me some great finds on some beautiful handbags. A great place in this Great America to think about making a home there. And to top it off who comes over to join the yard sale Rory himself thanks for the hospitality we will be back.

We were in the state, drove like madmen to get there before they closed at 2:00. Got there at 1:28 and they wouldn't let us order from the menu. We would have eaten whatever they already had cooked, like a special or soup. They let us order dessert and coffee. It was delicious.
My hubby and I stopped back on Sunday Morning after Cowboy Church. Yummy breakfast too. Comfort coffee too!! It just takes me home in my heart.❤
