My wife and I stopped in for lunch. I ordered a rib plate and she got a chicken sandwich. The staff was friendly enough and the BBQ beans were good but now the not so good. My coleslaw was basically wet chopped cabbage, the cornbread was very dense and dry and both of our meats were extremely dry. I can't emphasize that enough. They were the driest ribs I have ever eaten. I only ate maybe two because I ran out of tea to wash it down. Their sauce is more like a juice so it just runs off the meat and pools on the plate. I was really disappointed. I love ribs and it's the 1st thing I'll try when I go somewhere new. There was no love in the preparation of those meats. My guess is it's prepared too far in advance and reheated somehow. Another curious thing was the lack of smoke. My wife's chicken wasn't smokey in the slightest and while my ribs appeared to have a smoke ring there was no bark anywhere. There was only a few grill marks visible on medium brown unseasoned meat. I really don't want to come off as too harsh but I'm not a picky eater. You can bring me the wrong meal and I'll probably eat it. I just have to say something when I see someone abusing meat that way.
Mmm mmm Good!

Me and my fiance were working in Columbia decided to take lunch come up on nolens barbecue so we went in they were rude there were three of them the oldest lady was the rudest. We ordered two pork plates one with baked beans and potato salad and the other coleslaw with mayo and baked beans. We asked if they came with drinks she didn't say she just turned around and pointed to the cooler so we told her we wanted it can Sun Drop and dr. Pepper our total came to $21.83. When we received our food and sat down to eat or drink we're hot we asked for two cups of ice because our drinks were hot they were so busy talking to each other they only brought one and had to turn around and get the other when we reminded them we needed two. My fiance went to eat his coleslaw which did not have Mayo like he asked nor vinegar it was basically just a bunch of chopped up vegetables that was horrible in a small small container, the only way to eat the baked beans and potato salad was to mix them together and the only way we could eat our barbecue was to Downs it down in all of the barbecue sauce in the bottle. Also what barbecue place serves two thin dry slices of cornbread instead of buns for barbecue. I do not recommend anyone to eat here very horrible place to eat. service was bad food was worse.
Barbque is good. Great for takeout. Place isn't much, only has couple tables.
I'm out of town here in Columbia visiting my mother-in law, stopped in Nolens barbecue to pickup lunch. The place stuck! Smelled like a wet diaper. The counter lady never ask me my for my order.but kept talking with a lady that had walked in the Resturant ahead of me. I can't figure how people allow their places of business that there trying to make a living at, get in that kind of shape! I can't get the stinch smell of the place out of my nose. Clean your act up before someone gets sick!
